Terms of Service
1. The agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Bayram Ünal ("we", "us") about your use of the Variare app for Android and iOS and this site. Bayram Ünal provides Variare as an individual developer, not as a company. By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use Variare.
The Privacy Policy explains what data Variare handles and forms part of this agreement.
If you use Variare on an Apple device, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app, and Apple is not a party to these terms.
You must be at least 18 to use Variare.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials to yourself. Give accurate information when you sign up, and tell us if you think someone else has access to your account.
You can delete your account from inside the app. Deleting it removes your trips and the other account data described in the Privacy Policy, and that removal is permanent — export or write down anything you want to keep first.
3. Acceptable use
Do not:
- break the law with Variare, or use it to help anyone else do so;
- attempt to access other people's accounts, trips or data, or to bypass the limits, entitlement checks or rate limits in the service;
- scrape, resell or redistribute Variare's content or the third-party data it displays, or use it to build a competing dataset;
- submit content that is unlawful, abusive, hateful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- interfere with the service — probing, overloading, or automating it beyond ordinary personal use.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things, and may do so without notice where the abuse is ongoing or harmful.
4. Your trips and your content
Your trips, notes and preferences are yours. You keep whatever rights you already have in them. You give Variare only the permission it needs to run the service for you: to store your content, sync it between your devices, process it to build and update your itinerary, and back it up. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies still ageing out of routine backups.
Feedback you send us is different: we may use it to improve the product without owing you anything for it. Do not send us confidential information in feedback.
Bayram Ünal's own software, design and branding remain ours. Nothing here gives you a license to copy them.
5. Generated itineraries
Variare builds itineraries automatically, including with an AI provider. A generated itinerary is a starting point, not verified travel advice. Opening hours, prices, travel durations, visa and entry requirements, accessibility, safety conditions and availability all change, and a generated plan can be out of date or simply wrong. Check anything that matters with the operator, the venue, or an official source before you rely on it. Variare does not book anything on your behalf and is not a travel agent.
Prices shown in an itinerary are estimates unless they are explicitly labelled otherwise, and any conversion into a display currency is an approximation of a price quoted in another currency.
Generation runs as a server-side job. Closing the app, navigating away or losing connection does not cancel it and does not charge you again; returning reconnects to the job already running. If a generation fails, whatever it reserved is released and your setup is preserved so you can retry.
6. Trip Passes
Generating a trip requires a Trip Pass. This applies to every generation, including the first trip you ever generate — there is no free trip. A Trip Pass pays only for generating a trip; once a trip has been generated, everything else you do with it — opening it, reading a day, editing a stop, changing dates or preferences, reordering, offline access, ordinary sync — costs nothing further.
Variare currently does not offer a subscription. If one is introduced later, these terms will be updated first, before it is offered.
How a purchase is used. Starting a generation reserves one Trip Pass from your balance. The pass is spent only if the generation completes successfully. If a generation fails or is cancelled, the reservation is released and nothing is spent — your balance and your trip setup are unaffected, and you can retry without being charged again. Retrying an already-reserved generation does not reserve a second pass.
Trip Passes are sold as one-time (non-subscription) products through the app store you use — Google Play on Android, the App Store on iOS — in two sizes: a single Trip Pass, and a pack of three. All purchases are made through that store under its own terms; the store handles payment, receipts, price changes and refunds, and Variare never receives your payment details. Prices are shown to you by the store, in your local currency and inclusive of any taxes the store applies, at the time of purchase, and may change for future purchases.
A purchase is credited to your account after the purchase is verified with our backend (on iOS, through RevenueCat), so your balance follows your account rather than your device — it is not transferable to another account and it has no cash value. Refunds are requested from the store and are handled under the store's own refund policies and the consumer law of the country you live in; nothing in these terms reduces that right. Where the store refunds a purchase (Google Play's "voided" purchases, or an App Store refund), any unspent Trip Passes from that purchase are withdrawn from your balance — your balance is never taken below zero, and a Trip Pass already spent generating a trip is not clawed back and that trip is not affected.
7. Third-party information
Variare shows place, route, photo and weather information supplied by third parties, including Google Maps Platform. That information is theirs, is subject to their own terms, and may be incomplete or out of date. We are not responsible for it.
8. Availability and changes
We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, add or remove features, and may suspend the service for maintenance. If we make a change that materially reduces a paid benefit you have already bought, we will tell you.
If we change these terms, the updated version is published here with a new effective date. Continuing to use Variare after that date means the updated terms apply. If you do not accept them, stop using the service and delete your account.
9. Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are legally required to, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue the service we will give reasonable notice so you can retrieve your trips.
10. Disclaimer and liability
The Variare service, provided by Bayram Ünal, is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or lost data, or for travel costs, missed connections or plans made in reliance on a generated itinerary.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or under mandatory consumer protection law, which continues to apply in full.
11. Which law applies
These terms do not impose a choice of law or a choice of court on you. The consumer protection law of the country you live in applies to you in full, and you keep whatever right it gives you to bring a claim where you live. Nothing here takes that away.
